By HKS

HKS collected three 2020 Fast Company Innovation by Design Awards for its COVID-19 conversion projects. The firm was a finalist in the Space and Places Category, and picked up Honorable Mentions in both the Health and General Excellence Categories.

The 2020 Innovation by Design Awards theme honored the designers and businesses solving the problems of today and tomorrow.

Working 24/7 with its construction partners, HKS designed and adapted four different building types into low-acuity COVID-19 field hospitals in 15 days for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

HKS also claimed a Fast Company Innovation by Design Award in 2019 when the firm’s Sensory Wellbeing Hub project won Honorable Mention in the Space, Places and Cities category.
